Motivate offers activities which encourages self development, educational and employment opportunities and local community projects, which have included Hoole Road Commemorative garden, The Ashes Project at Salacre Lane cemetery and speaking at the Townswomen’s Guild annual conference. Motivate works closely with Raleigh, an overseas development charity who encourages young people to participate in volunteering opportunities in developing countries. 7 young people from our area have been successful with Raleigh. The Young Advisors are 6 young people from Woodchurch who are aiming to be the voice for the young people of the Woodchurch Estate. These Young Advisors are involved in the regeneration of the area. Their aim is to bridge the gap between the generations. They are involved with talking to other young people and putting their views across to the decision makers on the estate. They will also work at teaching adults and young people how to communicate with each other.
We work closely with local schools. This includes meetings; teaching in RE and PSHCE and drop-in sessions.
We run the Woodchurch Community Minibus scheme. The minibus is available to community groups from across the area. This project is designed to help improve transport for local people.
