The Bank – Home of the Village Youth Project

The Village Youth Project is based in The Bank in Upton Village and run by St Mary’s staff and volunteers. The Bank is passionate about its community and young people.

The Bank strives to help young people achieve their full potential, giving them opportunities to grow, develop and have fun. Its motto, “Labels are for jars, not for young people” highlights how much it believes in the intrinsic, unique value of every individual and wants to help challenge the stereotypes that young people are so often faced with.

Over the years we’ve run thousands of drop-in sessions and hundreds of clubs.

Cancer Christian Fellowship

Wirral Christian Cancer Fellowship is a group of people from local churches who have had an experience or are currently undergoing treatment for cancer.

Those who are walking alongside cancer patients on their journey to wholeness are also welcome.

The group meets on the second and fourth Friday of each month at Redacre 1 at the Sisters of Jesus Way (see above), from 3pm – 4:30pm.

The group provides the opportunity to ask questions, explore possibilities and to grow together in loving support, and also to grow in our understanding of the Christian faith and how it helps us and others through times of shock, fear and anxiety.

Activities include having fun together, going on outings and learning from one another. There is space to listen to music, watch DVDs, share a meal together, hear each others’ stories and pray together.

There is also opportunity for a personal chat and prayer or just to be quiet in the garden or Chapel.

Friendships are not limited to the Fellowship meetings but continue between members through support and prayer.
